the vendor of the NAG Numerical Libraries, IU software license
Indiana University participates in the NAG Academic Site License Initiative (ASLI) The HPC Support Team administers the NAG ASLI participation for IU. The program includes a rich set of software including the NAG Numerical Libraries which are available on the UITS RAC shared supercomputer systems:
Included are:
  • NAG FORTRAN 77 Library - world's largest mathematical subroutine library, containing 1,152 highly efficient, user-callable numerical subroutines
  • NAG C Library - a suite of 275 numerical routines designed and written in C, covering a wide range of mathematical and statistical functions.
  • NAG FORTRAN 90 Library - a library of routines designed to take advantage of the powerful new features of FORTRAN 90
  • NAG Parallel Libraries - libraries of numerical procedures produced specifically for distributed memory parallel machines or networks of workstations; available in MPI and PVM versions
  • NAGWare FORTRAN 90/95 Compiler - the world's first compiler to support the FORTRAN 90 ANSI/ISO standard; robust and stable.
  • NAGWare FORTRAN Tools - provide users with the ability to analyse and transform Fortran 77, Fortran90 and Fortran 95 code.
  • IRIS Explorer - an object oriented scientific programming system for visualizing, manipulating, and analyzing data, and for developing scientific and engineering applications quickly and intuitively. Based on OPEN/GL, and OPEN Inventor.
  • Genstat - a full-featured statistical package providing basic procedures plus advanced capabilities.
  • GLIM - statistical software concentrating on generalized linear interactive modeling.

Please see the NAG Academic Site License Initiative (ASLI) webpage for more complete information.

In general the license provides for:

  • Faculty and staff use of included software for institution research and business
  • Student use on Indiana University-owned computers
  • Note: Student home use requires purchase of a separate license
  • Binaries including embedded NAG software are restricted to above computers and may not be generally distributed
  • NAG performance and other information is proprietary and confidential and may not be shared outside Indiana University, published or otherwise disseminated without the prior written consent of Numerical Algorithms Group
